I work at the University of Central Lancashire as a Principal Lecturer in Coaching and Performance. I have a specific responsibility for student experience and staff development. I have conducted research in skill development and motivational climates that applies directly to schools. I have a significant consultancy role working with Governing Bodies for sport on aspects of governance, performance and talent development, as well as developing high performance in Business and Military environments. I have a specific interest in innovations in learning, particularly, games-based learning and use of technology in learning. My role as Chair of Education Sub-committee is perfect for my skills as I have significant experience conducting research in learning and development and my job requires that I am at the forefront of learning technologies. My role as student experience lead sits well with my role as designated safeguarding governor, as I lead on Prevent at UCLan and work closely with the Director of student services regarding safeguarding issues.
