Great learning can only take place if students are safe and happy. It is our aim that through our rigorous safeguarding procedures, as well as our student pastoral care and support that Sandymoor School is an environment where great learning can flourish. We take safeguarding your child very seriously.  See below for Sandymoor School’s Safeguarding team.

Operation Encompass

In conjunction with Cheshire Police, Sandymoor School is involved in an initiative called Operation Encompass. The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident. Following such an incident, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset, worried and unprepared. Operation Encompass aims to ensure that appropriate school staff (called “Key Adults”) are made aware early enough to support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.

At Sandymoor our Key Adults are Mrs Rebecca Ruddock and Mrs Debbie Kinsella.

This is a valuable initiative that means we can continue to support and help children and families within our school community when they need it the most.

You can find out more by visiting or by contacting our Key Adult.

E-Safety at Sandymoor School

The internet is now part of our everyday lives.  Children, young people and adults alike use it to learn, work, play and socialise via their computers, tablets, phones and games consoles.

The internet can be an interesting and fun place to spend time, it can also be a dangerous place if you are not sensible, responsible and don’t know how to stay safe online.  Here at Sandymoor we have Microsoft Ambassadors within the student body who report to Mr Kerr, their role is to support students with ensuring they know how to keep themselves safe.
